As a graduate of the B.L.E.T. program at Rowan-Cabarrus in 2019, Officer Jason Shuping gained invaluable knowledge that shaped him into an officer who naturally excelled in the field. On December 16, 2020, Jason was fatally wounded after responding to a car-jacking suspect. 

The Officer Jason Shuping Memorial Public Safety Scholarship Fund's goal is to assist well-qualified B.L.E.T. cadets from Rowan-Cabarrus for generations to come that have the desire to lead and be the change. Jason’s legacy will continue to give back to those who are committed to making a difference in law enforcement.
