Olga Bays Provided Opportunities and Guidance
Olga Bays loved teaching, her students, and Culver-Stockton College. For generations of C-SC students, Ms. Olga Bays played a significant role in their educational journeys. During her 34 years at Culver, she held many positions ranging from Professor of History to Registrar. She also served as Culver-Stockton's military liaison and in this capacity, she founded and managed the College’s ‘Bootstrapper’ program, which provided young veterans and active-duty servicemen with opportunities to earn a college degree. Ms. Bays was nicknamed "the colonel," by the Bootstrappers for her straightforward, honest, and trustworthy counsel and in her honor, the Olga Bays scholarship was established.
