The Sister Thea Bowman Foundation began on October 19, 1989 in Burlington, Vermont at St. Michael’s College. Sister Thea Bowman, one of the founders was present, along with thirty-seven Thea Bowman Scholars.  

For thirty-four years, the Foundation has reached down the ladder with students and donors, and in prayer to provide support for those with their backs against the wall and with no hope.   

Through your support, we are able to provide academic scholarships, mentoring support, and spiritual enrichment for our scholars on their journey though post-secondary Catholic education.
