Roberto Souza's humble spirit and warm smile influenced untold numbers of people. Roberto pastored churches in Brazil before becoming the President of the Baptist Seminary in Rio.

Dr. Souza then became the Director of Ethnic Ministry for the BCNE where he trained many ethnic pastors. After retiring, he continued mentoring young pastors because it was his passion.

He passed away in 2021.

In keeping with his lifelong commitment to train ministers, a scholarship fund was set up in his memory to assist leaders of ethnic churches. The scholarship fund became operational in May 2022.
