Steve Imler Shelter for Pets in Crisis

Every year, LiveSafe Resources Emergency Shelter receives calls and referrals related to victims with companion pets. This expansion project allows our team to offer safe and healing shelter and services to any victim in crisis alongside their furry family members.

To put the real need in perspective, 97% of intimate partner victim survey respondents said keeping pets is crucial in deciding to seek shelter, and 50% would not seek shelter without them. 91% noted their pets' emotional support and protection are vital to their survival and healing (www.avma.org).

We are thrilled to partner with Greater Goods Charities, Red Rover Foundation, Purina and the LiveSafe Resources Board of Trustees to open the Steve Imler Pet Sanctuary at LiveSafe Resources.
