The Effingham Knight of Columbus members, families and friends all work hard together to help those in our community collecting donations and handing out Tootsie Rolls.  The Tootsie Roll Drive Funds are collected and then 90% are distributed locally to Effingham Unit 40 Special Education, St. Anthony and Sacred Heart Schools Special Education,  Community Supports System, St. Francis Church SEARCH and Ballard Nature Center.  The other 10% is used by the Illinois State Council to help with Group Homes and Special Olympics.  As the Home State of Special Olympics AND where the Tootsie Roll Drive started 54 years ago, the Illinois Knights are very proud of the work we do to help those with Intellectual Disabilities.  Brother Knight Jay Borries is a Special Olympian and he, along with his family and fellow Olympians, volunteer and make a very generous donation to the Tootsie Roll Drive.  Be like Jay and help us out, no amount of time or size of gift is to small.  Thank you!
