The marathon is turning 50 this year, and so do I.....and I am proud and honored to be running the 2O2O TCS NEW YORK CITY MARATHON as part of Team CBTFF!! I will be raising funds for the Children's Brain Tumor Family Foundation in honor of TEAMSean to support research that I hope will help find better treatment options and a cure for my amazing 13-year old son Sean. My goal - to raise at least $10,000 in honor of his brave 8-year battle against a brain tumor. Since his diagnosis in 2012 at just 4-years old, Sean has endured four brain surgeries, 30 rounds of radiation, more than 25 MRIs, countless hospital stays, and months of rehabiliation - always maintaining a beautiful smile on his face. He's also become quite the little advocate for this cause! His strength, perseverance, and positivity gives me the courage to take this on and inspires me every day!! Please take a minute to watch the video of his journey, or you can learn more about this little superhero at www.teamsean.org.
The Children's Brain Tumor Family Foundation (CBTFF) is an all-volunteer based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer, and funding research for rare and inoperable brain tumors. Founded in 2015, the CBTFF was built by families - inlcuding mine - who have been united by tragedy. The proceeds from all funds we raise support the Children's Brain Tumor Project, a research effort at the Weill Cornell Pediatric Brain and Spine Center co-directed by Sean's beloved neurosurgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield, and Dr. Mark Souweidaine. Together, they have a single goal: to bring hope to the hundreds of patients and families each year who confront the heartbreaking diagnoses of rare and inoperable pediatric brain tumors. You can be part of that hope by donating today!
