YOU can deliver health and hope to the world

Sons of Thunder - ZM-20-143

I am fundraising $35,000 for a container of medical supplies to equip a new medical clinic in Livingstone/Senkobo in Zambia. It serves over 20,000 locals from over 70 villages.

$32,136.05 of $35,000

Twenty-five years ago, near the roaring cascades of Victoria Falls, Zambia, Sons of Thunder (SOT) came to life. In Damascus, Maryland, Pastor Jerry Beall of Damascus would preach to his congregation every Sunday about the importance of helping others throughout the world. His love for people and devotion to God’s word inspired him to buy a 6,000-acre farm in Senkobo with the goal of teaching people the skills of farming God’s way.

Since its inception, the farm has created a community that has served over 70 local villages. The major facilities include a primary school, conference center, church, self-sustaining farm and a medical and birthing clinic. They practice community outreach by providing medical care to over 20,000 people per year from the surrounding areas. SOT also educates over 400 students at their award-winning school, lends their conference center to various community groups and sponsors six churches near Livingstone. SOT has become a thriving and exceptional example of a God-centered community in Zambia. However, its success has put demands on the original health clinic on the farm.

SOT is a vital part to the community as it has provided care for 10,000 people by trained medical staff through mobile bush clinics and an additional 10,000 on the SOT farm clinic. Currently SOT is growing to build a new clinic that is approximately three times larger and is projected to be finished by Thanksgiving 2021. There is also a birthing center and laboratory that help to provide quality care for generations to come.

To fulfill the needs of the new clinic, a shipping container filled with over $300,000 worth of new medical supplies will be sent for the new medical clinic. The container will be provided by Project C.U.R.E based in Denver, Colorado through generous donations of $35,000. When the new medical facility is completed, the original clinic will be updated and used as a rural medical center to serve even more local villages north of Livingstone in Senkobo.

Sons of Thunder is one of the many blessings God has given Africa. It not only helps to provide means for sustenance in communities throughout Livingstone/Senkobo area, but also educates them to be self-sustainable. As Jesus said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” We intend to reach our fundraising goal by October 1, 2021 and therefore appreciate donations that will further our impact and God’s way at SOT.
