At Ma’s Junior School, a primary school, in Tororo, Uganda, Africa, the teachers would like to use InterPlay to bring more joy and hope to the orphans and other children that attend there. Bernard Omuse, the director of the school, is a counselor in the International Peace Camp in Seattle. Soyinka Rahim also volunteered for Peace Camp and went on a cultural exchange sponsored by Betsey Beckman and Abbey of the Arts where she introduced InterPlay at Ma's Junior School in Uganda and all were deeply nourished. While in Seattle last summer Bernard attended the Deepening into the Heart of InterPlay taught by Krista Harris and Sharie Bowman, fell in love with InterPlay, and wanted to take it to his people.
With support from Krista Harris, Soyinka Rahim and Sharie Bowman teamed up to lead online Ugandan play groups gatherings set up by Bernard. Many have expressed appreciation for the hour long playgroups, but because of the significant time zone differences it is difficult to lead a full Life Practice Program online. InterPlay Seattle wishes to raise funds so that certified InterPlay leaders can bring the Self-Paced Life Practice program to some of the teachers of Ma’s Junior School. Our hopes are that in the future, the young students will be taught by local teachers, on-site, without wobbly Internet connections late at night or very early in the morning, a definite win for global InterPlay!
This project is also supported by the InterPlay Seattle Community! Check their campaign out HERE!
