Support Sustaining International Sisters (SIS)

Supporting Women from Around the World

Sustaining International Sisters (SIS) has been bringing women together from around the world to connect, inspire, and learn from one another through InterPlay since 2018. Without missing a beat when the global pandemic struck a year ago, we took our “in-person” monthly three-hour “play and potluck” online. We continued engaging with asylum seekers, other international women, and American citizens living in the metro-Atlanta area, and expanded our reach worldwide. SIS helps women break out of their isolation, share their stories, and exform trauma while integrating body, mind, heart, and spirit across cultures.

We also continued our 2-hour monthly Online Global SIS: InterPlay, which we launched in 2019, to stay connected with and support women who left Atlanta and returned to their countries. SIS supported quarantined “Sisters” in China, Italy, Argentina, Panama and other countries through InterPlay.

InterPlay Sustaining International Sisters (SIS) became a 501c3 nonprofit through the Body Wisdom office in 2020.

Your gift will help SIS with the following:

  • Scholarships for New Online Offerings. Because of economic differences globally and situationally, international women often don’t have money or time to “play” and to connect with other women to form supportive networks. SIS would like to award scholarships to participants so all who want to attend are able to.

  • Monthly Bilingual InterPlay for Spanish Speakers ($1,200 annually). Meeting the needs of women in Panama, Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking countries who need InterPlay facilitation in Spanish but also want to learn English. This will support bilingual facilitation, leader stipends as well as InterPlay materials translated into Spanish

  • Three “Sisters Room” 90-minute empowerment playshops with guest facilitators ($300). Applying InterPlay to explore topics of empowerment, speaking out, and domestic violence.

Operational Costs:

  • Meet Atlanta rental space cost ($135 each month for 6 months, totaling $810)
  • Maintain SIS domain name and website fee (annually $228)
  • Obtain a Pro Zoom account (annually $180)

Total expenses to meet operational costs and new offerings: $3,718
