Q25 - Scotland
Miguel Silva
Quest 25 includes 22 students representing 16 congregations across New England. Quest 25 will travel as three teams from February 15-24, 2024, to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Scotland.
I have been selected to participate in Quest 25! Quest is a leadership development program for high school juniors, sponsored by the Baptist Churches of New England, and consists of an application process and three “phases” over seven months.
This summer, I completed Phase One during CrossWalk, a youth camp, where we explored biblical doctrines and examples of leadership. During Phase Two, we worked on team building, sharing our spiritual story, and worshipping with churches similar to the cultures where we will travel. Each team member has been given assignments to complete at home. Some of our assignments include making a photo journal, sharing about our family, and researching and writing a short paper about our destination. We also chose a local mentor. We have two more in-person gatherings. One will take place in December and the second during YEC, a youth conference in January.
The final phase is an overseas trip in February 2024. This year, Quest consists of three teams traveling to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Scotland. My team will travel to Scotland to work with local missionaries and learn the culture of the people.
I would like you to support my Quest experience through prayer. Please pray for me to grow in my faith.
In addition, I would ask you to consider supporting this opportunity financially. My financial responsibility for the Quest experience is $2,700. Quest requires that I personally earn $500 toward the total. I earned my portion of the money by cleaning houses with my Mom and helping my Dad in construction. The additional money will be raised through fundraisers, family, friends, and my local church.
I would be honored by your participation in my Quest experience! Your support gift is tax deductible. I hope to have my support raised by December 1, 2023. Any money raised beyond my goal will support the team and projects at the travel location(s). I appreciate the role you play in my life, and I ask that you pray for our journey in February. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
