This week, a sweet 10-month-old basset boy named Tucker came into our rescue—just in the nick of time. Within hours of arriving, Tucker began vomiting and passing large amounts of blood.
His fosters rushed him to the ER. His temperature was dangerously low, he was severely dehydrated, and X-rays showed signs of infection and possible blockages from items he’d swallowed in his previous home.
Because of how serious his condition was, the ER immediately transferred him to an overnight emergency clinic for round-the-clock care. His first night away from the only home he knew… spent in an ER cage fighting to stabilize. ❤️🩹
So far, Tucker has thrown up a pair of underwear and passed what looked like a cat toy. His previous owner also shared that he’d gotten into Christmas lights just the day before. He has now been diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Diarrhea, and the clinic is keeping him on intensive fluids, antibiotics, and continuous monitoring.
We are so grateful Tucker made it into rescue when he did. If not, we truly don’t know what might have happened. He is back at his foster home where he is receiving all the care and love he deserves.
But now we need your help.
Tucker’s emergency care is already climbing into the thousands, and as a nonprofit rescue, we can only continue saving dogs like him with the support of people who care.
If you’re able, please consider donating to Tucker’s medical fund.
Every dollar—truly—helps give this little guy a chance at the safe, healthy life he’s never had.
