In Memoriam – John Welch
The motorcycle racing community is mourning the loss of John Welch, a respected member of the American Motorcyclist Association Pro Racing operations team who dedicated over 30 years of service to our sport. John passed away recently following the Indianapolis round of the AMA Supercross series, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, passion, and commitment to motorcycle racing.
John was known throughout the paddock and racing community as someone who quietly worked behind the scenes to help keep events running smoothly. His dedication to the sport and to the riders, teams, and staff around him earned him deep respect across Motocross, Flat track, and Supercross.
Beyond his professional life, John found his greatest joy outdoors and traveling with his family and partner Debbie. Whether exploring new places or riding his motorcycle down winding country roads, those moments brought him peace and happiness.
At Road 2 Recovery Foundation, our hearts go out to John’s daughters, McKenna and Brittany, along with his extended family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
To support John’s family as they navigate this loss, Road 2 Recovery will be helping raise funds to assist with funeral and cremation expenses. The motorcycle community has always stood together in times of need, and this is one of those moments where we can rally around one of our own.
From Motocross to Flat track to Supercross, the entire motorcycle community feels this loss. His presence at the races and his friendships within the paddock will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace, John. Your dedication to the sport and your kindness to those around you will never be forgotten.
