We will be touring a manufacturing facility in Macomb, Illinois, to get an inside look at the produciton process. The visit will provide an opportunity to learn more about operations, observe how products are made, and gain a better understanding of the company’s role in the local economy and workforce.

Economic Development Strategies That Have Transformed Macomb: A Walking Workshop
Led by Mayor Inman and Kristin Terry, two people who understand economic development and love Macomb, IL. This economic development training uses a guided walking tour format to showcase the strategies that helped transform downtown Macomb. Participants will learn how public and private investments, historic preservation, entrepreneurship, transportation improvements, public art, and placemaking can work together to strengthen a community’s downtown and create lasting economic momentum.
The experience will highlight key redevelopment projects including the Train Station corridor, Chandler Park, the Lamoine Hotel, 309 Marketplace, JB Design, and downtown murals and sculpture installations. Through these examples, attendees will see how TIF funding, grants, infrastructure investments, and local partnerships can support business growth, public space improvements, housing opportunities, and a more vibrant downtown destination.
