The Humanity 5K is more than a race. It is a powerful gathering of families, runners, and walkers from across Chicagoland coming together for one shared purpose: to stand with the children of Palestine.
On Sunday, May 31, our community will gather inside SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview for a meaningful morning of unity, compassion, and action. The event will feature a 5K run and a 1-mile family walk, beginning promptly at 9:00 AM.
Whether you are an experienced runner pushing your pace in the 5K or walking alongside your children in the 1-mile walk, this event is designed for all ages and all fitness levels. Strollers are welcome. Families are encouraged. Every step counts.
The heart of this event is the mission. Proceeds from the Humanity 5K will support the Palestine Orphanage in Tulkaram, which cares for children who have lost their mothers and fathers due to the harsh realities of life under occupation in the West Bank. Many of these children have endured profound loss as a result of ongoing instability and violence, and now rely on the orphanage for safety, shelter, education, and stability.
The impact of this event is real and measurable. In 2025, Humanity 5K proceeds funded the purchase of a beautiful 12-seat van for the Palestine Orphanage in Tulkaram to help transport children to and from school, field trips, and essential appointments. Prior to that, there were serious challenges in safely getting children to school and other necessary destinations. Because of this community’s generosity, children now have reliable transportation that supports their education and daily needs.
This is about more than miles. It is about transforming movement into mercy and solidarity into action. It is about teaching our children what compassion looks like and showing the world that our community stands for humanity.
Families, runners, and walkers from across Chicagoland are invited to be part of something meaningful. Run with purpose. Walk with heart. Stand for humanity.
