Your money and our mentors have a huge impact

To increase how many students we help our Board Chair, Jim Deupree, has committed a $10,000 matching grant. Up to that limit he will add 50% to every donation you make by November 30, 2024. Please do not miss this opportunity to give generously.

How we make a difference

A "full-ride" scholarship still leaves incidental expenses to the student, with many having to work long hours at part-time jobs.  We want them to get all of the benefits of a top-tier university experience.  $5,000 can mean avoiding 300 - 500 hours of part time work.  That has a huge impact.

A mentor has proven to have an equal impact.  Many of our recipients are first from their family to go to college.  They are becoming adults and have an array of questions.  Think about a mentor who impacted your life in a good way?   How lucky were you?  Our mentors are all successful business leaders who care enough to help others.  A very high % continue the mentorship relationship after the award period.  Many amazing impact stories have emerged, ranging from life advice to making connections that landed a dream job.

Believe it or not, getting help in the hands of those who will make the most of it is hard.  Yet it also has the greatest leverage.

Our scholarship candidate goals are 1) promising students, 2) from economically underserved communities, 3) who have already earned major scholarships to top-50 and HBCU Universities. Our partnership with the Ron Clark Academy gives us a great funnel of superb candidates — all that we can handle.

Once we select our scholarship winners they receive:

  • Additional financial support that eliminates the need to work several jobs while at school, enabling them to spend time with noted professors, participate in professional areas of interest and build a social network that is invaluable in future years
  • Mentoring that guides them in making the most of their college opportunity by taking advantage of building a lifetime network, helping them attain internships and taking advantage of extra projects with noted professors in their field of interest.

Donor Day at RCA

The learning experience at the Ron Clark Academy is extrordinary.  Students also learn an array of communications (how to meet someine) and life skills, including proper etiquette.  And they end up with a lifetime yearn to learn.

Our donors have an annual opportunity to see the unique Harry Potter themed facility, meet the students and observe Ron Clark in his 5th grade classroom for an hour on November 13, 2024.
