About Our Campaign

Painting the Future Together!

 Campaign to Co-Create Proud Neighborhoods

ArtWorks is an award-winning nonprofit organization creating community-based public art in Greater Cincinnati that provides career opportunities for artists of all ages. The public art produced in creative collaboration with communities, businesses, government, foundations, and other nonprofits bolsters civic pride and the region’s global reputation as an arts destination.

We are making a “mission leap” for all of Cincinnati. To ensure the future of its vital programming, ArtWorks has embarked on a transformational $11.7M campaign, Painting the Future Together!, which will enable ArtWorks to expand employment for youth and artists year-round and to equitably bring public art to every neighborhood in Cincinnati. The launchpad for ArtWorks will be a revitalized Creative Campus in Walnut Hills, one of Cincinnati’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.

Over its 28-year history, ArtWorks has invested $1 million annually in wages paid to artists, creatives, and arts professionals, including diverse teams of more than 4,000 youth (aged 14-21) and 3,500 professional artists. Together these artist teams have created more than 14,000 works of community and public art, including 350+ large scale permanent public murals.

ArtWorks makes a difference in the lives of Cincinnati’s youth as the only youth employment and workforce development program in the arts in the Greater Cincinnati region that serves underrepresented and under resourced populations. ArtWorks’ professional artists inspire and mentor diverse teams of youth apprentices, helping them build 21st century career readiness skills.
