For a quarter of a century, Dr. Scott Stewart has been the heart and soul of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony. Since 1999, his leadership, passion, and vision have transformed this ensemble from a local honor band into one of the nation’s most celebrated youth wind ensembles. Now, as we honor his 25th year, we invite you to be part of this milestone by supporting the AYWS and its incredible young musicians.
Under Dr. Stewart’s baton, AYWS has:
🎶 Grown from 60 to 100 members—giving more talented students the opportunity to create music at the highest level.
🎶 Served nearly 4,000 students—many of whom have gone on to prestigious music programs and careers.
🎶 Commissioned over 30 new works—expanding the repertoire for young wind ensembles worldwide.
🎶 Performed in the country’s most prestigious concert halls—representing Atlanta on the national stage.
🎶 Embarked on its first-ever international tour to Europe in June 2025—a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students.
