7th Annual Help the Homeless

Resized help the homeless main

Help the Homeless, is all about serving people in need living on the streets and in shelters. This is our biggest project of the year and we need your help.

On Thanksgiving Day we will be organizing an outreach event in downtown Sacramento to provide new clothing and supplies to the homeless community. This year our goal is to increase our giving capacity to serve 500 people - which is over double what we’ve done in the past.

How You Can Help

There are two ways you can help this year:

  • Online Donation - your contribution will go towards the purchase of new clothing & supplies (see below for details)

  • Amazon Shopping List - Shop and ship the items you would like to donate to the project. Simply purchase on our Amazon list and it will be shipped directly to our storage facility for our volunteers to hand out on Thanksgiving Day.

Any donation is appreciated, no matter how small. And as always,100% of your tax-deductible donation will be used for our project.

How Your Donations Are Used

100% of your donations are used for our project for the following:

  • Hygiene Kits: toothbrush/ toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, band-aids, chapstick, hand sanitizer, deodorant, combs ($10 each)
  • New Clothing: Shoes, socks, jackets, gloves, hats ($15 each)
  • Sleeping Gear: tarps, sleeping bags, blankets, etc ($15-$20 each)
  • Backpacks & misc supplies ($15-$20 each)

Project Impact

Homelessness has continued to increase in Sacramento County, seeing an increase of 19% over the past couple of years. It’s been reported that more than 11,000 people engaged with the homeless system last year, and on any given night there are more than 5,000 experiencing homelessness. Our project could impact nearly 10% of those in need!

The Tower of Niceness was founded with the mission to help people whenever and wherever we can. It feels especially important this year to do just that. With the support of people like you, we will be able to buy critically needed clothing and supplies for those in need during the holiday season.

Thank you for your niceness!!
