Andrews Research & Education Foundation and EXOS partner to help Injured and Wounded Special Operators

THE EAGLE FUND & THE MISSION

The Eagle Fund is a program developed by Andrews Research & Education Foundation (AREF) and EXOS, world leaders in sports medicine and human performance. This program supports injured and wounded service men and women from the United States Special Operations Community in their quest to return to active duty and improve their overall quality of life. Since its inception, the Eagle Fund has helped thousands of wounded or injured Special Operation military service men and women.

WHO WE ARE

AREF brings together the highest level of sports medicine education from doctors, researchers, and rehabilitation professionals while partnering with industry leaders to research cutting-edge solutions that impact the future of sports medicine. EXOS is a world leader in integrated performance training, nutrition, and physical therapy for elite athletes, military, first responders, and forward-thinking corporations. Together, we allow continuity and cooperation across various specialties, including performance training, physical therapy, nutrition, program enhancement, and outreach. The program allows fast access to the best-in-class physical restoration, training, and education for wounded and injured warriors.

The Eagle Fund program is a restricted fund within AREF, which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The program is funded by a grant from the State of Florida, Department of Health and private donations. The Eagle Fund administered by AREF.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Eligible participants for the Eagle Fund are directed to the program by the US Special Operations Command Care Coalition. This group manages the care of the wounded special operations community and determines their entry to the program based on schedule, medical clearance, and physical need. Annually, the grant allows 84 service members the opportunity to participate in the program for a four-week period.  Additional participants are funded by individual donations.  Both the grant and individual gifts are subject to fees for administration to ensure effective management in compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

THE EAGLE FUND MODEL

Eagle Fund participants undergo a full physical performance evaluation with the results providing an individualized game plan across training, nutrition, and physical therapy. This evaluation provides participants with a unique and individualized experience to address and support their specific physical needs and goals during their time in the program.

Upon entry, the participant receives a movement assessment and evaluation by the physical therapy team to determine their plan of care as well as safe and specific activity levels. The performance specialist uses that information to customize each participant’s movement skills and strength training to their particular needs.  Participants receive individual consultation with registered dieticians to develop a customized plan in line with their own specific goals and needs throughout their four-week duration in the program and weekly massage therapy.

OUR COMMITMENT: SUPPORTING IMPACT THROUGH TRANSPARENT ALLOCATION

At AREF, we are dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting change in our community. We want to take a moment to share our commitment to transparency and responsible resource management. When you donate to AREF, a portion of your generous contribution goes towards covering essential administrative costs that enable us to operate efficiently and effectively.

We understand the importance of utilizing your donation wisely, ensuring that the maximum possible impact is directed towards our core programs and initiatives. While we strive to minimize administrative expenses, they are nonetheless vital for the day-to-day functioning of our organization. These costs encompass critical areas such as staff salaries, office space, technology infrastructure, and other operational necessities.

By allocating a portion of donations to administrative expenses, we are ensuring the sustainability of our operations and allowing more of your contribution to directly support the projects and initiatives that drive positive change. Our commitment to transparency means that we openly communicate how your donation is distributed, providing you with the assurance that your generosity is being put to good use.

We thank you for your continued support and belief in our mission. Together, we are making a tangible impact, and your partnership is a crucial part of our success. If you have any questions or would like further details about our financial practices, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your trust is of utmost importance to us.
