Raise Funds to Empower Big Futures

David Carter
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am seeking your support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dallas, for which I serve on the board of directors and as a "Big Brother" volunteer.
In the spirit of earning your donation, I am trekking 24 miles across the Grand Canyon, from the north to south rim, on Friday, October 4. I am asking friends and family to pledge an amount for each mile and am personally joining the effort with a $2,000 gift.
A donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dallas is a sound investment. Our program services at risk youth that statistically face a high chance of landing in the juvenile justice system, which costs taxpayers over $130,000 per year per child. For a cost of about $1,500 per year per child, BBBS offers 1-on-1 mentoring to local kids. Incredibly, over 97% of our "Littles" finish high school either enrolled in college, enlisted in the military or employed.
I am fortunate to serve as a Big Brother to a handful of 7-9th graders (our group tends to grow each year). Our focus is a healthy mix of homework and fun adventures, like when we attended last year's Rice vs. North Texas football game (above photo). I would be grateful for your support so we can help match the ~1,000 kids currently on our waitlist so they can have similar opportunities.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions ([email protected]) or if you're interested in being a "Big."
Thank you for your consideration!
