Team Yaya

In Loving Memory of Liz Williams AKA Yaya

$20 of $500

In 2018, my dear mother was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer and in October 2018, her health started to decline rapidly. In November and December, she was in and out of the hospital with not many answers. In January 2019, she decided to move to Atlanta where she was evaluated at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. It was there when our answers were finally answered. My mother's cancer spread quickly to other major organs and it was difficult for her to move around creating a large blood clot in her main artery causing her to have only a short time left with her family and friends. My mother wanted to spend her last days in a facility where she was cared for 24/7 but the hospice facilities would not accept her because she did not meet certain requirements. It was at Cancer Treatment Centers of America where we met a nurse who recommended Southwest Christian Care. We were told that they did not take insurance and instead were funded by donations. We decided to call and their representatives came to visit us at the hospital. Their friendliness made us very comfortable and my mother decided to accept the offer. When we arrived at Southwest Christian Care we were impressed by the friendliness and service. They welcomed us like family and prayed for us often. They took great care of my mother and she passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019. My family and I will be forever grateful to Southwest Christian Care.
