Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston is thrilled to begin building seven homes on Norfolk Street in Dorchester, MA!
As part of this effort, we are pleased to announce our participation in the Pope Leo Villages project, an 20-city initiative across the United States conceived of by an anonymous friend of Habitat Greater Boston who was inspired by Pope Leo's message encouraging service to our communities and neighbors. This effort focuses on engaging youth, students, young adults, and many others as part of a Faith in Action movement to build more than 235 high quality affordable homes for families within the Habitat for Humanity framework.
We are grateful to our anonymous donor for helping to fund the Norfolk Street project and we are thrilled to share that Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill will MATCH every gift to this project, dollar for dollar, up to $225,000! When we earn this full match, and with the support of our anonymous donor, we will have funded this wonderful project!
Pope Leo said, the 'supreme law' of the Church is to "serve life, by caring for others in this, our time together".
