Rhode Island - Where Baptists in America Began

Roger Williams started the first Baptist church in America in 1638 in Providence, Rhode Island. Today tens of thousands of Baptist churches from 27 different Baptist denominations are spread across North America. Though Rhode Island may have had the first Baptist church in the nation, many churches there still struggle to reach Rhode Islanders for Christ.
