Georgia United Credit Union Foundation in partnership with Georgia United Credit Union is excited to announce this year’s grant recipients for the 2021 Georgia United School Crashers® program. Together, we are committed to improving the quality of life for children and families, supporting schools and advancing financial literacy throughout the state of Georgia. Each year, our 501(c)(3) Foundation partners with Georgia United to provide Georgia schools an opportunity to receive grants to improve the learning environment for their students.
This award-winning school makeover program unites business partners and volunteers to complete multiple campus improvement projects for deserving schools. Even with a lingering pandemic, our 2020 “COVID Crashes” won recognition as the top ongoing community service program by CUNA. (See gucufoundation.org for a video recap!)
Now in its eighth year, Georgia United School Crashers has positively impacted 31,994 children across 50 schools by creating inspiring learning spaces and facility improvements valued at over $1,400,000. Funding for the program is provided by the Georgia United Foundation and generous donations made by community partners like you. Eight more schools, selected from 258 applicants, will receive project improvements over the summer before the start of the new school year.
Donations are critical to the success of the School Crashers program, as they help maximize the impact we can make for these schools and their students. Improvements to the learning environments is a great way for all of us to positively transform the school facilities. We ask you to join our Georgia United volunteers and generous donors like Mohawk Industries, to inspire learning through enhanced play spaces, outdoor classrooms, sensory rooms, media center makeovers and more. Will you help us with a donation to help improve these school facilities?
