CTC Academy is SOARING Into Our 70th Year!

CTC Academy holds a special place in the hearts of our entire family...but mostly for Michael. After a traumatic and nearly fatal birth followed by four months in the hospital, Michael came home to endure years of non-stop therapy at home as well as throughout New Jersey, along with countless doctor appointments, in-home nursing care, being hooked up to monitors and feeding pumps...all while the doctors and therapists kept saying he may never walk, talk or eat by mouth - be prepared to care for his every need forever.

And then we found CTC Academy....we carried Michael into CTC at the age of two, not knowing what to expect but over the next three years CTC's dynamic and knowledgeable team not only helped Michael to achieve and exceed our goals for him, but they nurtured our entire family, teaching us to not define Michael by his disability but to let Michael define who he is and who he will become. He learned to walk, he learned to talk, he eats everything in site and he hasn't slowed down since.

Today, thirteen years after Michael began at CTC, and ten years after moving to a program that met his changing needs, he still talks about his days at CTC...his favorite teacher Miss Laurie, singing Gymbo The Clown in Miss Brenda's Class, learning to throw a ball - these are all things he remembers and wants to reminice about on a daily basis - these are the reasons we are asking for you to support CTC in Michael's honor as he surfs and soars his way to new heights.
